How To Find Us

From Bristol M4 travelling west

Leave M4 at Junction 25a.
Follow A4042 to Pontypool.
Then A4043 to Blaenavon.

From Cardiff M4 travelling east

Leave M4 at Junction 26.
Follow A4042 to Pontypool.
Then A4043 to Blaenavon.

From the 'Heads of the Valleys' road travelling east

Turn right towards Brynmawr town centre then follow directions as in lorry route from M50 listed below

From M50/A40 Ross-On-Wye

Through Monmouth tunnel, pass services take next exit Raglan/Abergavenny.
Go along dual-carriageway, Raglan Castle is on your right.
At roundabout take A40 towards Abergavenny.
After about 6 miles at a large double roundabout on the edge of Abergavenny.
If you come from Hereford on A465 you will hit the same roundabout.

(Car route only)

Follow the A465 west towards Brynmawr/Merthyr/Swansea/West Wales.
Go to the next roundabout head right to Abergavenny and at bottom of the slip road go right at the roundabout back under A465.
After leaving A465 head towards Govilon after about 1.5 miles (just after a sharp bend through a gap under an old railway bridge.
Turn left towards Blaenavon B4246 (follow Iron Works and Big Pit Brown Heritage signs). Go up over canal and up over mountain down into Blaenavon.

(Lorry route only)

Follow the A465 west towards Brynmawr/Merthyr/Swansea/West Wales.
You will hit roadworks with traffic lights over a bridge (possibly) after about 300yds.
Follow A465 to Brynmawr.
When you get to top of the hill along A465 turn left towards Brynmawr Town Centre/Abertillery/Blaenavon/Newport.
After 600yds at next roundabout turn left up hill on B4248 towards Blaenavon for 5 miles
400yds after entrance to Blaenavon Railway turn right down hill and 3rd right onto industrial estate.

NOTE: The brown Heritage signs for Blaenavon Ironworks and Big Pit are posted on all major routes to bring you into Blaenavon.
